The Union of Associations "Polish Green Network" was established in 1998 as a country-wide organization assembling environmental organizations from different regions of Poland.

The Polish Green Network's mission is to promote sustainable development through partnership, co-operation and participation.

Main fields of activity

• Building public support for sustainable development;
• enhancement of public participation in decision-making processes concerning environment;
• initiating pro-environmental activity at individual level;
• strengthening environmental non-governmental organisations.

Polish Green Network:

• carries out national promotional and information campaigns;
• co-ordinates the work of regional information centres;
• participates in creation of laws, politics, strategies and programs;
• carries out public monitoring of management of public funds and access to information;
• organises seminars, workshops, conferences, edits newspapers, books and leaflets
• is active on the Internet
• develops international co-operation.

Polish Green Network is member of the following international NGO networks: CEE Bankwatch Network, ANPED, the Northern Alliance for Sustainability, SFteamCE (Central European coalition on EU Funds).
