The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an important institution in the so-called 'industrialised' world. The OECD groups 30 member countries who share a commitment to democratic governance and a market economy. It is best known for its publications and its statistics. Its work covers economic and social issues from macroeconomics, to trade, education, development and science and innovation. Its studies and work have a great impact on traditional non-environmental departments in government or other actors and the media. Hence a continuing NGO prescence can ensure reflected concerns from a broader part of society than the traditional OECD community of Trade Unions and Business and Industry. ANPED is one of these NGO-contacts. ANPED is a member of
OECD Watch.

PAST ANPED ACTIVITIES RELATED TO OECD
- OECD Environment Ministers held a Council Meeting from 19-20 April 2004 in Paris. The ministers did not have many great decisions on their list, so time could be spent on discussing, in a less formal setting, many environmental issues that are on the world’s agenda today. ANPED’s Executive Director was invited, together with a few more NGO representatives to participate in the two-day meeting. The meeting started with a formal Stakeholder Consultation, however stakeholders were invited to observe, and even intervene in the morning ministerial meetings that followed.
